Michelle Pulver has always been captivated by the allure of historic homes. So when a 1937 residence in the esteemed South of Grand neighborhood of Des Moines became available in 2012, she, as a distinguished interior designer, instantly recognized it as the dream home for her family.

This 5,550-square-foot brick beauty, replete with nearly 100 windows, untouched original hardwood floors, and detailed wainscoting, also nestled within a generous plot surrounded by mature trees. Not just content with its bygone charm, Michelle melded the past with the present by integrating both vintage and contemporary elements, emphasizing sleek lines and a neutral, earthy palette. She remarks, “For as old as this house is, the flow and size of every room are very modern..”
